The musical talent appears to run in Bruno Mars‘ family after his nephews, Nyjah and Zyah, auditioned on the recent episode of “America’s Got Talent” (AGT).
The sibling duo performed an original song titled “Heartbeat,” which earned them all four yeses from the judges, allowing them to move forward to the next round. Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara praised the two young men for their vocals.
“I have to say that your voice reminded me a little bit of Grace VanderWaal. I think you’re going to be memorable. I think people are going to remember your name, and I just think they are stars,” said Mandel.
“I think you guys are amazing. You were like, in heaven on that stage. We could feel it from here,” added Vergara.

Mel B, on the other hand, admitted that she could not instantly connect with the song choice but was won over by the sibling duo’s harmonies.
“You are very likable, and I’m rooting for you. I want you to do well, but I have to be honest with you also: the song didn’t really connect with me, but what did connect with me was your vocals and your harmonies. That I won’t forget,” expressed Mel B.
“If you’ve got talent, you’ve got talent, and you do,” added Simon Cowell.
Although Nyjah and Zyah did not mention that they are related to Mars during their audition, clips from the audition quickly circulated on social media, with fans pointing out the pair’s connection to the Grammy-winning singer.

Mars is known for being half-Filipino on his mother’s side, with some Filipino fans pointing out Nyjah and Zyah’s Filipino heritage as well. The sibling duo are the sons of Mars’s sister, Tahiti Hernandez, who was present during the boys’ AGT audition.
According to an article on Talent Recap, Nyjah and Zyah are part of Mars’ extended musical family and have previously collaborated on projects connected to the artist. Last year, the duo was featured on “Burning Love” for Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” soundtrack, a track produced by Mars. /edv
