Sony’s SS-CS5M2 speakers are an excellent option for anyone in the market for passive speakers. On sale, you’d be hard-pressed to find better-sounding speakers at this price.

KLH calling these bookshelf speakers might be a stretch, given their size. The design itself is strikingly retro, with a premium wood finish and fabric grilles. Sold individually, they’re undoubtedly an investment piece, but properly cared for, they can last forever. Crucially, the sound is exceptional, thanks to the acoustic-suspension design that keeps the bass clear and distortion-free.
