GMA’s Robin Roberts Celebrates 3 Years of Marriage with Wife Amber Laign

Robin Roberts and her wife, Amber Laign, are celebrating three years of marriage with a look back at their Connecticut wedding.

The Good Morning America co-anchor, 65, marked their latest anniversary on Instagram on Tuesday, Sept. 8, sharing photos of their “intimate” backyard ceremony and video clips of their “joyous” reception.

“3 years ago today…after an intimate wedding ceremony in our backyard we headed to a joyous reception,” Roberts wrote in the post’s caption. “@dj_valentina kept our beautiful guests on the dance floor all night long!! My nephew @jeremiahcraft even challenged @whitjohnsontv to a dance off! 3 years later our smiles and lives are as bright as ever.💕.”

The photos show Roberts and Laign smiling and holding hands in their white wedding gowns at their garden ceremony, held in the backyard of their Connecticut home. The clips capture guests dancing at their reception at Farmington Gardens, in Farmington, Conn., where they were joined by around 250 guests, including many of Roberts’ ABC News colleagues, tennis icon Billie Jean King and journalist Gayle King.

Several of the couple’s celebrity friends sent their well-wishes in the comments of Roberts’ anniversary post, including GMA weather anchor Sam Champion, who wrote “Beautiful day ❤️,” and Wanda Sykes, who commented, “🥂❤️.”

GMA‘s Ginger Zee wrote, “What a PARTY! Happy anniversary. 😍.”

Three months after their Connecticut nuptials, Roberts and Laign said “I do” for a second time at a lively New Orleans wedding celebration that featured a brass band and plenty of dancing.

“My thoughtful siblings hosted a festive wedding celebration for us in #NOLA for those unable to attend our ceremony in CT in Sept.,” Roberts explained on Instagram at the time as she shared video footage from the bash.

“We’re grateful to our family and dear friends for a spectacular and memorable weekend celebration of love,” she added in a follow-up post.

Last year, Roberts marked her second wedding anniversary with Laign by sharing more highlights from the New Orleans nuptials.

“Can’t believe it’s already been 2 years,” she wrote on Instagram. “My big sister @sallyann_roberts and her husband Ron graciously hosted a lovely post-wedding celebration…the music and pics are big clues where it took place…no place like home! Mrs&Mrs 💕.”

In a separate joint post for their anniversary, Laign wrote, “Happy Anniversary my love 💫❤️. The happiest day/ night of my life! I will never forget laying my eyes on you for the first time that day, my heart felt like it was going to explode out of my chest. You took my breath away 🥹.”

She added, “#LOVEWins and you won my heart forever ❤️. Happy two years and forever to go ✨.”

While chatting with PEOPLE at the opening night of Broadway’s Call Me Izzy in June 2025, Laign shared the secret to her and Roberts’ lasting relationship.

“We keep it fresh,” she said. “You’ve got to keep it fresh, have our little date nights. We’re on a little date night tonight.”
